|This article is about the building in Age of Mythology. For the similar building in other games of the series, see Wonder.|
The Wonder is a building in Age of Mythology. It is a magnificent monument that can win the builder the game outright in Supremacy mode. Wonders are extremely expensive and take most of a civilization's builder units to construct, but as soon as one is completed, a 10-minute countdown starts. If the Wonder is still standing at the end of the countdown, the player who built it is victorious.
When the Wonder is built, the player and their allies will stop attacking enemies and send their troops, including Titans, to guard the Wonder instead, while it becomes the main target of the opponent attacks. It will be important to perform a turtling strategy so the villagers (infantry for the Norse) must build walls and fortifications around the wonder, many god powers must be prepared to be used in order to protect the wonder.
If the enemy team builds a Wonder, the player and all their allies must be prepared for a lengthy siege, many offensive god powers must be prepared to be used in order to destroy the wonder and all the defensive structures around it (for example Tornado, Undermine, Deconstruction, Implode, etc.). there will be necessary to create a large number of siege units or units that have crush damage.

A distinguishing cultural characteristic of the great civilizations was architecture. Buildings in all parts of the world looked quite different and employed different construction techniques. In many cases, particularly noteworthy buildings stood as icons for the building civilization, marking it for all time as a culture that achieved greatness, if only temporarily. Examples of such cultural icons are the Pyramids at Giza and the Parthenon at Athens.
