|This article is about the building in Age of Empires III. For the similar building in other games of the series, see Wonder.|
Wonders are buildings exclusive to Asian civilizations featured in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties. They are built to advance Age, also providing unique abilities, active bonuses, or shipments.
In contrast to previous titles, Wonders do not appear in Age of Empires III and The WarChiefs expansion. In The Asian Dynasties, five different Wonders are available to each Asian civilization (Chinese, Indians, Japanese). Their benefits are increased depending on the Age they are constructed in. They may provide unique perks such as an active ability, passive bonus or the capacity to train units. For example, the Taj Mahal provides the Cease Fire ability, similar to Hermes' god power from Age of Mythology).
All Wonders have 5000 HP and are affected by technologies that benefit structures. The Agra Fort also counts as a defensive structure, so it is also boosted by defense-related technologies.
Their cost corresponds to what a player invests for advancing to the next Age. As such, in order for a player to advance to the Colonial Age, they must invest 800 Food to the construction of a Wonder. Likewise, advancing to the Fortress Age costs 1200 Food and 1000 Coin, advancing to the Industrial Age costs 2000 Food and 1200 Coin, and advancing to the Imperial Age costs 4000 Food and 4000 Coin. This makes Wonders the only type of structure in Age of Empires III to cost Food instead of Wood.
