The War Wagon is a heavy cavalry unit that resembles a wagon housing a gun that is pulled by a horse in battle. The War Wagon is available in Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III.

[edit] Age of Empires II

The War Wagon is a Korean Unique Unit that is trained at the castle. It was featured in the Age of Empires II: The Conquerors expansion, starting at the Castle Age. The War Wagon fires a bolt at the enemy, similar in appearance to those of scorpions and galleons. It is much more powerful and resilient than a cavalry archer but more expensive and not as fast.

[edit] Age of Empires III

The War Wagon is a unique unit to the Germans that features in Age of Empires III, starting at the Fortress Age. The War Wagon is a horse-drawn wagon that is outfitted with a rifle for battle. The war wagon functions as the German mounted counter-cavalry unit.

The War Wagon is a unique light cavalry that have a high siege damage making powerful to destroy buildings. The War Wagon resist 20% of hand damage making strong to heavy cavalry (Hussar, Uhlans, Cossacks), not good to raiding villagers (but have the uhlan) and your speed are low to a cavalry (6), with more range (+4). Takes full damage to outposts, not resisting to range damage.

The Germans may have a very strong combination of war wagons, skirmishers, uhlans and falconets.

[edit] Real Info

The War Wagon was a medieval weapon inspired by the Korean Hwacha, which was first produced in 1407 by the order of King Sejong the Great during the early Joseon Dynasty.

War Wagons were also developed independently by Hussite troops in Renaissance Bohemia. Formed into a laager and armed with arquebuses, they were instrumental in staving off attacks by the Holy Roman Empire.
