The Wakina Rifle is a ranged infantry unit available to the Sioux in Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs.

Overview Edit

The Wakina Rifle is a skirmisher with relatively few hitpoints and a poor melee attack. However, it makes up for that with excellent range and attack. In fact, it has fewer hit point than a normal European skirmisher, but slightly more attack and siege damage. Thus, it cannot stand long against heavy cavalry, but it is effective against heavy infantry (such as pikemen or musketeers).

The Wakina Rifle also appears in the "Fire" campaign of the Warchiefs as Seneca and Mohawk soldiers. Unlike the War Club and the Cetan Bow, the Wakina Rifle costs food and gold.

History Edit

"Sometimes the Sioux had to fight on foot. It is not always possible to run someone down with your horse. On these occasions, they fought tenaciously and well. In general, the Sioux were known for their keen accuracy with their rifles."
