Thanks for contributing to the Age of Empires Wiki. Happy Editing! Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- !mmortal (Talk) 04:23, June 4, 2011
Thanks for your contributions to this wikia. However, as long as article titles are incorrect (e.g. Dark Rider should be Black Rider), please don't shorten titles from Age of Empires: xxxx to xxxx (AoE)? This nomenclature is used for purposes of clarity.
Hey Piano, I reconsidered coming back, I will be editing at least ten times a day. But I do have other wikis, especially the AoE Online Wiki, which I'm considering merging into this one. But I not 100% sure. - KazMx ( Message me! | E-Mail me! | 1,438 Edits! ) - ( ) 15:43, June 17, 2011 (UTC)
Hey, would you like admin tools to move pages and stuff without the rate limit? I can give you them for a week, or you could request them permanently here. Thanks, Ajraddatz Talk Contribs 02:04, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
You never got back to me - would you like temporary sysop tools so you can move as many pages as you'd like, rather than need to wait for rate limits? Ajraddatz Talk Contribs 20:48, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
I think this wiki needs a major revamp (especially the Main Page).
We need a different Featured Article and for that new nominations which we currently lack.
We also need a new HBFS. Btw, what purpose does it serve?
We need more/new Trivia under the DYK heading.
We also need to eliminate those red links and just unlink the ones to impossible pages.
We need more pictures (Google Images is a good source e.g. Morgan Black AoE III).
We need a standard format for articles and users should cease referring to themselves on pages (such as "i think this is the right spelling".
We also need more active users and a page to link all User Accounts and Admin Accounts (We currently have a page called Users but only 1 link. The trouble is, nobody knows how to add a User page to a Category).
Ah, Piano! I've seen you on Sporewiki for quite a bit recently, and I just want to say welcome! I'm also an avid Age of Empires player, and I occasionally come here to do some clean-up work (grammar, spelling, etc.). But, I just came here to say hi. Nice to see you here! I came up with an idea for some navboxes that may or may not be of great use for the wiki, which is why I am proposing it to you before I go ahead and make it. I have the idea of making an navbox that provides easy links to the individual types of units within each game (for example, an AoE II Infantry navbox would contain a list of all infantry units found within the game (it would be sure to point out unique units, and order of lineage as well)). If you don't think that I should implement it, that is absolutely fine with me, but personally I find it a bit difficult to navigate through the various pages for units found in the different games. In addition, since I am only familiar with AoE II, I will only be able to make an accurate navbox for AoE II units (though provided with an accurate list of units for the other games, this may not be a problem). Again, if you do not like this idea, then just go right ahead and tell me, though I do look forward to going ahead with it! TheJovar 04:38, July 13, 2011 (UTC)
Hi there! I'm new here. I know a lot about wikis, Age of Mythology, and AoE II and III. Especially AoM though, because it's the only one on my computer at this time. I really like wikis, and this one looks great! I'm looking forward to helping out a lot in the future! --Hoodedwarbler12 14:10, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
Hey i was bored and came across your wiki, noticed the massive amount of double redirects that needed fixing, so i ran my bot through. Hope you don't mind, lol made 6th on the wiki. If you need any other bot related task completed, let me know. Gracey91✉ 18:13, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
Hiya Dan! i'd say Aoe is one of the first modern video games I can remember playing...
Anyhoo, I have suggested some improvements on my userpage on unifiying and cleaning the wiki. I think myself and the ideas can be a great addition to the aoe wiki. So, drop on by and give it a think, won't you? Thanks, Big McLargeHuge 22:03, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that is quite obvious. However, it ha been a very long time since I have played any of these games, nor can I now, so I really can only help on the wikia side of things. You may want to check the candidates for deletion, becuse that category is getting bigger. Big McLargeHuge 14:43, August 22, 2011 (UTC)
Why didn't you deal with this twit who thought he could mimic multiple personality syndrome and spammed the entire wiki activity feed with utter nonsense? C'mon Piano you've got the POWER! XD !mmortal talk 03:30, November 13, 2011 (UTC)
Hello, seeing as your an admin, could you please delete files: Image:Trireme.jpg and File:StoneThrower.jpg as they are not being used at all, and the images have been replaced with a higher quality one. Thanks. emosworld 06:15, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and Image:Stable_1.jpg - thanks. emosworld 06:46, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm focusing on Age of Empires 1, and Rise of Rome at the moment, seeing as I'm getting back into those games. Unfortunately, I don't have Age of Mythology, so I guess I'll just focus on AoE and RoR. emosworld 20:56, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
Great work Piano! I've got a suggestion to make, and don't really have the time to see it through. How about changing the background to a (larger) image that encompasses the entire (or most of the) series? Any response is welcome! !mmortal talk 10:07, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
Hey Piano, I haven't been active for the past week, apologies for the late message and Happy Black Friday and Thanksgiving! We don't actually celebrate them in Down Under, but anyways :). I promoted Lee a couple of months ago, see here.
Well, it's kind of an effort - I also get the same issue with print screen (in which the screen turns black when I paste the image). What I do is use the video capture software called FRAPS. I capture a video, then open the video using Windows Media Player. Somehow, when you video the game, it does not turn black. I then print screen the video - voila - you have a perfect image (with exception of the yellow/red numbers on the top left hand corner). Hope this helps!! emosworld 06:22, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
Also, on a side note, there's been an idiot destroying and creating new pages. Could you please delete all the bogus pages, and block this idiot here.emosworld 06:24, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
I might make a few edits here and there if I can get my gaming comp up and running again, at the moment though I am mostly doing console gaming. Designing strategies for the higher difficulties of single player games like Skyrim (Breton Juggernaut) and Dead Island. Mictlantecuhtli 06:54, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
I don't know why there is a gap between the Main section and News section, which has pushed it partially out of the text background, any ideas? Also, I suggest we should have gaps between articles' titles and opening texts, thoughts? Cheers!

Hi mate, I've disabled the article comment feature for the time being, after excessive spamming. <gone for the time being> Cheers !mmortal talk 05:27, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
Can you edit here:http://thesupergaming.wikia.com/wiki/Special:WikiActivity. I have been trying my hardest to make this wiki grow and the wiki itself is kinda a video game encyclopedia. I would really apprecaite it if you edited there because we need fans from different game series to fully expand. As of that i will edit on a wiki you have that needs help or any other wikis that you want me to edit on. Overall thank you for reading!Reviewportal77 18:49, February 23, 2012 (UTC)
I think I'm going to take a break from continual editing and focus on my education. In my general absence over the year, I'm sure you'll fulfill the role of main bureaucrat here that all will seek advice and guidance from :) Thanks !mmortal talk 00:29, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
Some articles here are "move protected" in case of vandalism or attacks made by sock puppets. The title of the Berserker article cannot be changed since it is actually referred to as that name in the game. If you need additional assistance, feel free to send me back a message.
Am I allowed to replace images like this, with images like this?
Because, you know that the article is about Settler Wagons, and the hitpoint bar is also quite useless, so I think only the icon would make it look nicer. BoazMoerman 19:08, May 23, 2012 (UTC)BoazMoerman
Of course! Feel free to make any changes if necessary. However, try to retain the original name of the picture if possible. This can be done by saving the new picture into the name or title of an existing picture, overwriting the original file. Even if the new picture is "duplicated," don't fret. Just ask an admin around here to remove any defect or duplicated images. If you need additional assistance, feel free to contact me whenever possible.
Do you know how you can calculate/see the LOS of units and buildings in Age of Empires III? I can't find it. BoazMoerman 13:49, May 27, 2012 (UTC)BoazMoerman
Buildings and other units can reveal range and other important information by simply clicking on it or its icon. However, only a certain amount of buildings actually possess range. Buildings that have their range shown can attack other units. Buildings with no range shown cannot attack other units, but have economic/technological purposes. No matter what type of building it is, it does have line of sight. Line of sight is slightly different from range. Line of sight can be greater than the firing range and all units have this ability. Unlike range, line of sight is usually not revealed in game. Cheers!
I notice that your Sitenotice refers to removing a template which has apparently been deleted. Since you seem to be the most active admin, can I get you to change or remove it when you have a chance? Thanks! – Robin Hood(talk) 07:22, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for addig that but I can't fully understand what you mean. If mean than Aof is not an official expansion well, it was unofficial but now it is official. Thanks again.RSV 123 (talk) 09:38, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
I was planning to add different colors for bots, moderators and rollbacks, but I am not sure yet which colors to use. Because they should be readable, and should not look like red links. By the way, I do not know how to have your username colored in wiki activity, page history etc, because I don't now how to make it work with the ~ symbol. BoazMoerman (talk) 15:20, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for making me a chat moderator. But in truly I don't know much about make duties and how to do it, it's my first time. Can you teach me how to do it? Thank you very much once again.RSV 123 (talk) 09:43, January 22, 2014 (UTC)
Ok you are right about some categories, but i think is necessary a cleanup for those categories that are redundant, is pointless for example labeling an article with infantry and the unti categories, when ovbiously all Infantry are Units. I just create these ategories ( catapults, Foot Archers etc. ) just in order to have a more logical and parsimonious category system, for example all foot archers are ovbiously archers, but Can be also considered Infantry and we can save these two categories in just one by simply labeling the foot archer category as a type of infantryPapermaniac (talk) 14:04, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
Other thing about the categories I almost forget, returning to the example of the Foot archers category, I create this because not all archers can be considered as infantry (cavalry archers for example) but If we have this category and the Cavalry archers category labeled as archers we can also categorize better the articules in the future. In the case of the catapult category I created that because of this article in wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catapult. I hope you read it. but just in case i can relabel it as "mechanical artillery" and the actual artillery category can be relabled as "gunpowder Artillery" and both categories can be labeled as siege equipment.Papermaniac (talk) 14:28, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
Hi, sorry if you think that I'm jumping into this but I think that the catagory units should be there, it would make it easier to navigate through pages.RSV 123 (talk) 16:57, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
Personally, I'm not a big fan of categories since I believe that properly designed nav-boxes are more organized. If you were to look at some widely read wikis, many articles have very structured nav-boxes and only have few categories for organization. Having too many categories may clutter the categories page which I don't find very pleasing. Again, this topic can be very subjective so I wouldn't worry too much about this.
In fact boxes are better for improve navigation, the categories purpose is mainly to describe what kind of article is this, well I follow your recomendationof changing the name of some categories, I will still resume the categories for the articles. I propose the next format for categorizing an article give your opinion:
All articles must have the game category
Unit Must have the building category where they are made except when this is redundant, ( for example the dock for ships is kind of redundant)
all Articles must have maybe 1 to 4 categories of the type of item that describes it.
All Articles must have the age in wich the item is accesible.
redundant categories will be deleted.
Preferibly the articles will have the civilization category if they are esclusive to certain civilization or a group of civilizations.Papermaniac (talk) 15:31, February 1, 2014 (UTC)
Sounds good. I will put this into our Manual of Style for units and even other articles as soon as the project is completed.
Hi, I have being away for only some time and a LOT have happened! That's really nice. The colour scheme is good but.... I don't know it seems a little strange. And the comments box in pages they are nice but seems a little immature for one of the oldest wikia. Thanks RSV 123 (talk) 08:54, February 19, 2014 (UTC)
