Unique Units are special units that are unique to a certain civilization in the Age of Empires series.
Age of Empires II
Every civilization in Age of Empires II has at least one unique unit. The Vikings, Koreans, Spanish, Incas, Indians, Italians, Berbers, Portuguese, and Vietnamese have two.

Age of Mythology
Age of Mythology was the first game to add more than two unique units, with at least 8-12 unique non-economic human units and from 1-12 different heroes.
Unique units exclusive to individual major gods:
- Zeus: Myrmidon, Jason, Odysseus, Heracles, Bellerophon
- Poseidon: Hetairoi, Militia, Hippocampus, Theseus, Hippolyta, Atalanta, Polyphemus, The Argo
- Hades: Gastraphetes, Shade, Ajax, Chiron, Achilles, Perseus
- Set: Animals of Set
- Odin: Raven
Age of Empires III
The unique units of the European civilizations in Age of Empires III are simply replacements of standard units. They can be trained any time in the specific building the unit type is trained in. Every European civilization has at least 2 unique units.
Native American and Asian armies consist almost entirely of unique units.
