The Statue of Lighting is a unique campaign exclusive defensive structure, appearing in Age of Mythology.

It is available in the Scenario Editor, as well as in some campaign scenarios. Their appearance is identical to the statue devoted to major gods, varying from the current god worshipped. For example, Kronos players will receive Statue of Lightning identical to the appearance of Kronos' statues in certain buildings, such as the Town Center.

Overview Edit

It has an enormously powerful chain bolt attack, that causes heavy damage to groups of units, not unlike the Son of Osiris' attack.

They can be found in some scenarios, most notably Good Advice. As Athena visits Arkantos in his dreams and he proceeds with his dream journey, the player encounters Statues of Lightning first close to the Temple of the Gods that must be defended from a group of Cyclopses and Gargarensis.

In the second phase of the dream, they can be found defending the city of Atlantis, when the player has to attack and destroy the city's Wonder.

History Edit

This ornate and reverently carved statue is a vessel for the wrath of the gods. Thunder will deafen the ears of the unworthy and bolts will rend their bodies. Step lightly near this statue or their wrath might fall upon you.

Trivia Edit

  • Like Circe, the statue's attack has a recharge timer.
  • The Norse statues appear to be carved from a whole tree, evident from the trunk appearing as a base.
    • The Atlantean ones, on the other hand, all share an identical base, unlike the Greek, Egyptian and Norse statues.
