The Son of Osiris is a Pharaoh upgraded with the Son of Osiris god power - bestowed by worshipping Osiris - gaining a staff and a falcon head. With this upgrade, he retains the powers of a normal Pharaoh, such as empowering and healing, but gains the ability to fire chain-lightning bolts that deal a devastating amount of damage and hit multiple enemies and buildings. The Son of Osiris cannot be healed, and if he dies a normal Pharaoh will respawn. He is much stronger than a regular Pharaoh, but due to his combat effectiveness and inability to heal, he is a prominent target for players' opponents.
As a Hero, the Son of Osiris deals bonus damage against myth units. As such, he is extremely effective when used against myth unit-heavy armies, though he still deals good damage against human units and even heroes.
The Son of Osiris is a notably effective Titan-killer due to his bonus damage and range.
Interestingly, there exists a glitch involving Osiris' New Kingdom improvement: when the god power is used after the improvement is researched, a third Pharaoh will spawn, totalling two Pharaohs and one Son of Osiris.
Because of his slow attack rate, he can easily be defeated if targeted by a large number of enemy units. Also, since creating a Son of Osiris involves using a god power, enemy players are alerted to his creation when using the power, giving them time to plan a counterattack against this new foe.
