Odysseus is a Greek hero in Age of Empires: Mythologies.
Hero power[]
Poseidon's Blessing: Allows Odysseus to move a second time on the turn it is used. Can be used every 5 turns.

Strategy[]
Odysseus is the most mobile hero in the game thanks to his hero power, making him also the best early game scout available. Being able to move twice in one turn, technically granting him a total movement for 30, he can reveal a food or gold tile hidden in the fog of war and immediately start scouting ahead for the enemy. This can also be used later to reveal the location of the enemy and allow Odysseus to retreat on the same turn until reinforcements arrive. If the enemy begins attacking the player and for whatever reason Odysseus is located further away, his ability can also allow him to quickly assist the other units in combat. As a cavalry type hero, he is effective against archer, siege and heavy infantry type units, as well as myth units. Like other hero powers, Poseidon's blessing counts as Odysseus' action for his first move, so he cannot attack twice in one turn or pick a relic and then continue scouting.
Trivia[]
- Aphrodite's Good Humors research should also affect heroes like Odysseus but due to a bug it does not.
- Contrary to his PC Age of Mythology appearance, Odysseus is a cavalry hero, rather than an archer hero.
