Hamburger is a random map filled with an abundance of resources on the main island. Players are separated by a line of trees. The main island has several huge gold and stone piles. Outside the island runs a moat filled with Shore Fish, Marlin, and Tuna. The outside edges of the map is lined with a small strip of land devoid of food sources but has small pockets of gold, stone, and wood. Relics are scattered across the outer ring of land. Players must scramble to quickly assemble their economies and leave the main island before they are trapped.
The early game is best spent gathering and using up the available resources on the rich island. The starting island only has one continuous woodline, so it is advised to go into towers in the Feudal Age to disrupt opponents' wood economy forcing them to either bail out to the outlying ring or trade their resources. Docking the moat early in the game is a recommend strategy as it increases the player's early game food production and allows the player to transport across the water potentially giving the player multiple options in the later game. On the water, the player can harass their opponent's fishing economy and prevent them from transporting Villagers across the moat, blocking off any point of expansion. Civilizations that work well on this map include the Koreans with free upgraded towers, the Incas with cheaper towers, the Ethiopians with extra Line of Sight on their towers, the Italians for fish boom, the Malay with faster Age up times, and the Japanese with stronger Fishing Ships and cheaper economy buildings.
