This article is about the structure in the Genghis Khan campaign and the Home City Card. For other uses, see Great Wall.

Age of Empires II Edit

The Great Wall of China features in the third scenario of the Genghis Khan campaign. It consists of three rows of normal Fortified Wall, with Keeps placed intermittently along the third row.

Age of Empires III Edit

The Great Wall is a Chinese Home City Card in The Asian Dynasties. It increases their hit points by 100%, or 335% when combined with Improved Buildings, TEAM Improved Buildings (Indians), Flying Buttress, and Bastion, for a total of 13,050 hit points. It also changes the appearance of other walls in the single player campaign, but not in Skirmish mode. However, as the Great Wall is built very slowly (build time of 2 becomes 12), the card is most frequently used after walls have already been built. The card can work out poorly against powerful opponents, as an additional 3,000 hit points can be insufficient when weighed up against the slow building time. Also if the Wall is frequently attacked, it may fall and can only be rebuilt slowly.

Note: The effects of the Land Reforms (Village Masons) card is entirely negligible versus the increased build time.
Card name Card description Age Level
Great Wall Wall hit points +100%, but building time x5. 3 10
