Gold Mines are locations that store resources and is found in Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, Age of Empires III and Age of Mythology.

Age of Empires Edit

Gold Mines in Age of Empires are rare and the gold extracted from them are often crucial for all types of victory. It is a quicker way of acquiring gold than trading (and often less dangerous). Gold mines in Age of Empires II are more common than the original version and gold is a more commonly used commodity. As such the value of gold is reduced, although it is still quicker and more efficient to gather from a gold mine than trade with other nations.

Age of Empires III Edit

Age of Empires III doesn't make use of gold, rather coin is made and used. This can be acquired from either a gold mine, a Silver Mine, a copper mine, or a tin mine (The Warchiefs). All of these are used at a fast rate and typically do not last.

Gold mines in Age of Mythology are quite common and many units require gold to be produced. Any villager unit can mine gold from a gold mine, although a Dwarfisthemost efficient miner in the game.
