From Age of Empires
Germany or the Kingdom of Prussia was a European nation which controlled Germany and a few other parts of the world. In the New World the Germans ruled little territory, however they did rule some territories in South America, such as Venezuela.

Main article: Teutons
Germans appeared in AoE II as the Teuton civilization. Though lacking in mobility, they had an otherwise full tech tree with many upgrades to buildings, monks, and economy. In the campaigns they were playable as the forces of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, and were enemies in some parts of the Saladin, Genghis Khan and Attila the Hun campaigns.

Civ Bonus: Free Uhlans that arrives with every Home City Shipment. Settler Wagons gather resources faster than Settlers.
Unique Units: Uhlan, Settler Wagon, Doppelsoldner, War Wagon
Royal Guard Units: Skirmisher, Uhlan
Home City Ruler: Frederick the Great
The Germans start off with fewer villagers than other civilizations like the Ottomans which causes the Germans to have a slower economy. The Germans somewhat make up for this by receiving free Uhlans with every Home City Shipment.
Because the Germans always have Uhlans, they will also have cavalry and their late-developing army is surprisingly diverse. The Germans you could have a strong army of Skirmishers, Uhlans, Doppelsoldners, or a few powerful War Wagons.
The Germans also have the avaliable ability to send Mercenaries from their Home City faster than the other civilizations.

- Tilly's Discipline (Colonial Age) infantries march (train) faster, but they cost more
- Wallenstein's Contracts (Fortress Age,4000g) mercenaries are free
- Zweihander (Industrial Age, 2000g) ships 12 Doppelsoldners, Doppelsoldner hitpoints +10%
