“ | Powerful improvements for your civilization. | ” |
—In-game description |
The Capitol is an economic building in Age of Empires III that is available to the European civilizations and Mexicans upon reaching the Imperial Age. It provides powerful economic and military technologies meant to break the stalemate between the player and their enemies.
The United States has the State Capitol as its counterpart to the Capitol, with similar functions (but with different technologies and improvements unique to the United States), and available in the Fortress Age. The African, Asian, and Native American civilizations lack an equivalent building to the Capitol, but can research the technologies at the Town Center.
