Favor is a resource used in Age of Mythology representing the player's standing with their chosen gods. It allows them to summon Myth Units and research mythic technologies, as well as create heroes for Greeks and Atlanteans. Unlike other resources, favor has a maximum limit of 100 (200 for Greeks worshipping Zeus). The symbol for Favor is a lightning bolt.
Earning Favor Edit
Each civilization has a different way of gaining the favor of their gods.
Greeks earn favor by simply sending villagers to a Temple to pray, making favor similar to other resources for them. This gives them the fastest possible rate of gain should they be willing to commit that many villagers.
The Egyptians honor their gods by building monuments. Once built, a monument provides a continuous stream of favor so long as it stands. Egyptians can build up to five monuments.
The Norse please their gods through strength and honor in battle. Any time a Norse human soldier is fighting, their civilization will quickly gain favor. Heroes earn more favor than regular soldiers.
Atlanteans win favor by spreading their civilization and reviving the Titans' influence. Each Atlantean Town Center contributes a continuous stream of favor so long as it stands.
