The Egyptians specialize in Chariots and Priests. Being the official tutorial civilization of Age of Empires, they are designed as a beginner friendly civilization due to their straightforward bonuses to their Chariots and Priests, and a modest economy.
Strengths[]
The Egyptians have a very powerful economy, as their Farms cost less wood (since the Definitive Edition) and their Gold Miners gather gold faster and carry +2 gold. Their economy synergizes well with their unit speciality, Chariots and Priests, as they are able to produce more Chariots and Priests thanks to the said economic bonuses. Their Chariots are some of the tankiest in the game, as they have +33% hit points, and they not only have every Temple upgrade, but their Priests have +3 conversion range and additional pierce armor through their team bonus. The Egyptians have other options in their Archery Range and Stable units to mix with their army such as War Elephant, Composite Bowman, and Camel Rider, and have every defensive and naval upgrades they need except Fire Galley. This makes Egyptian a good civilization for beginners and experts alike due to their straightforward bonuses with their economy and Chariots and having solid options to go for in both land and water maps alike.
Weaknesses[]
Two noticeable weaknesses are their infantry (which are borderline obsolete, lacking the important pierce armor upgrades and cannot be upgraded beyond the Hoplite and Short Swordsman) and their siege (the only siege weapon they have is the Stone Thrower, making it difficult for the Egyptians to tear down well-fortified enemy bases). The lack of Cavalry-line units means they'll need to rely on their Chariots and Camel Riders (since The Rise of Rome) are their main frontline units in the Bronze Age.
Despite their mighty midgame economy, many of their military bonuses don't come into play until Bronze Age. This makes the Egyptians vulnerable to early game rushes in the Stone Age and Tool Age.
