Blunderbuss is a Discovery Age technology in Age of Empires III, available at the Market. It costs 110 Food.
With it, Settlers have +4 Range, +4 Line of Sight and +3 to all damage. This technology is particularly useful if the opponent will raid a lot (like when facing the Germans or Sioux), or when planning on playing defensively at first. If the player is not expecting raids and is planning on being on the offence, this is less useful.
This upgrade is very useful for increasing the speed of hunting, as the animals die faster.
