Bamboo is a type of "Tree" and a source of Wood in Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology: Tale of the Dragon, and Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties.

Age of Empires II Edit

Bamboos are featured in maps based on East Asia, such as the Sea of Japan and China, as well as in scenarios that involve the region, such as Noryang Point. Like regular trees, they provide 100 wood.

There is also a chance for either mixed pine-and-bamboo forests or ones with only Bamboo to appear in many random maps.

Age of Mythology Edit

Bamboos were introduced in the Tale of the Dragon expansion, along with Jungle Trees, and are native to maps set in China (such as Basin and Deep Jungle), and in Chinese scenarios, such as Rising Waters.

Like other trees in this game, they yield 150 wood despite their smaller size.

History Edit

"Considered the fastest growing trees in the world, bamboos can be found in a very diverse range of climates. Their remarkably high strength and pliability rendered them a much-coveted resource and they were used heavily by ancient civilizations for both construction and weaponry."

Age of Empires III Edit

Bamboos make an appearance in two maps, both set in China: Silk Road (temperate forest version) and Yellow River. Each unit yields 150 wood.

They can either be found clumped together, or in a mixed ginkgo-and-bamboo forest.
