Strategy[]
Avengers are very powerful in close quarters. They attack ferociously in melee, dealing high damage and periodically executing a whirlwind attack that wounds adjacent enemies, even knocking down nearby trees. They can easily handle human soldiers and due to their whirlwind attack can kill or severely damage enemy soldiers. Because of this they can prevail against human soldiers even if outnumbered. They are very vulnerable to ranged units, and may be a primary target for enemy archers.
Because they are so potent in close quarters, it is recommended to attack them from a distance. As with all myth units, Heroes will defeat them at any distance, especially ranged heroes like the Priest and Pharaoh. Also, ranged or flying myth units like the Petsuchos, Mummy, and Vermilion Bird will work against them since Avengers have no ranged attack.
While very expensive (cost 30 favor and 250 food), Avengers are great to make an army of, although they take up 4 population slots. They have good speed, although they aren't as fast as a Centaur. Additionally, Avengers have no specific upgrades related to them.
