Age
From Age of Empires
Age is the term used to describe the periods the Age of Empires games are divided into. Each age allows a different level of technology and opens up different units and technologies to advance the civilisation to higher levels. Age of Empires and II have four ages each; however, Age of Empires III has an extra fifth, super-age that can only be reached when playing a supremacy game. In all three of the games, including each expansion, the player is able to choose which age to start from at the beginning of the game.
